Before
God, we have come together today for marriage is one of the most sacred
of his wishes.
And now He joins you together in one of the holiest of bonds. Let us
bow our head in prayer
.Oh Lord hear our prayer for Gary and Arabelle who today are united in
Marriage before you.
Give them Your blessings and always strengthen their Love for each
other. Amen. I find some likeness
between marriage and religion. they are both concerned with the
emergence of the larger self. It
is finding of ones life by loosing it. Such is the privilege of husband
and wife, to be each himself,
herself and yet another to face the world strong with the
strength of two, wise with the wisdomof two, and
brave with the courage of two. The high and fine art of
married life is in this mutual enrichment, mental and
spiritual,t his give and take between two
personalities. You are about to enter into a union
which is most
sacred and most serious, requiring of those who enter into it a
complete and unreserved giving of self.
It will bind you together for life in a
relationship so close and so intimate that it will
profoundly affect your whole life. That future with its hopes and
disappointments,its successes and its
failures, its pleasures and its pains, its joys and its sorrows are
hidden from your eyes. Love can make it
easy, perfect Love can make it a joy. May, then, this Love with which
you join your hands and hearts
hearts today never fail, but grow deeper and stronger as the years go
on! In the quiet of this very special
moment we pause to give thanks for all the rich
experiences of life that have brought you to this high
point in your lives. We are especially grateful for the values that
have flowed into you from those who
who have loved you along life's way. We are grateful that within is the
dream of a great Love and the
resources to use that Love in creating a home that
shall endure. We are grateful for the values which
you have found by your own strivings Now as you make
your promises to each other, may you make
them with the deepest insight into their meaning and with your
fullest sincerity. May this be the beginning
of a relationship that will grow and mature with each passing
year until the latter days become more
wonderful than the first. I ask you each to now agree to the marriage
vows. Gary, do you take Arabelle
for your lawfully wedded Wife, to Love and cherish from this day
forward, for better or for worse,
for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health? Arabelle, do
you take Gary for your lawfully
wedded Husband, to Love and cherish from this day forward, for better
or for worse, for richer or for
poorer, in sickness and in health? The hand offered by each of
you is an extension of Self, just
as is your mutual Love. Cherish the touch, for you
touch not only your own but another Life.
Be ever sensitive to its pulse. Seek always to understandand respect
its rhythm. At this time I
ask that you place the marriage rings in my hand. Maythe
Lord bless these rings which you give as
your sign of love and devotion.Amen.Gary, as you place Arabelle's ring
on her finger I ask that
you repeat these words, With this ring, I thee wed.
Arabelle, as you place Garys ring on his finger
I ask that you repeat these words, With this ring I thee
wed. May you always share with each
other the gifts of love and be One in heart and always
beautiful of mind. May you always create a Home
togethert hat puts in your hearts love, generosity and kindness.
In Hawaiian they say Pili olua e, you
two are now one. Haku e kau i malama lama 0 kona makamaluna. The
lord bless you and keep
What, therefore, God has joined together let no man put asunder. And so
by the power vested in me by
the state of Hawaii, I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU HUSBAND AND WIFE.
